I noticed that I’m skipping texts when I see first signs of AI generateed sentences. I’m justifying that based on low signal-to-noise ratio when it comes to text content on the web. In hypothetical, if 10% of all content I read is AI generated then I have to have sensitive filter to get through the noise.

Usual suspects when it comes to AI generated content:

  • 2-4 words sentences in succession
  • It is not (just) … It is (just)
  • Em dashes all over the place
  • Text is too polished and “tone-washed”

If I think that there was AI involved, my interest to read it drop to 0. In that case, show the prompt instead of the output. I may miss something useful for sure, but I don’t really care :)

Writers should write not manage robots to do so.
